"Sylvia Oberti, a great woman as well as a skilled driver with a passion for speed and solidarity who has been participating in world-class racing for many years to raise money for cancer children."
Dear friends , It's December, the month of the Christmas holidays, and I want to give children of all ages a fairy tale that was inspired by a wonderful meeting that took place in 2004, when I was working at Alfa Romeo, with the Californian racing driver Sylvia Oberti, a great woman as well as a skilled driver with a passion for speed and solidarity who for many years has participated in world-class races to raise funds for children with cancer. That year Alfa Romeo sponsored her participation in the Mille Miglia. During the stops it was possible to buy the Angelino mascot, his book: "Il viaggio di Angelino, della piccola Magica Barchetta Rossa e della Pilotessa" (Angelino's journey, the little Magical Red Boat and the Pilotess) and a scale model of the Angelo dei Bimbi plane. The proceeds were donated to several children's hospitals. He came to visit me in the Archives and I was fascinated by his beauty and sweetness. He gave me the mascot that has become my good luck charm and a copy of his book. Before leaving us, promising to stay in touch and excited by that meeting, I told her that I would have tried to write a fable about Angelino too. I immediately started writing it and sent it to her. I called it: "Angelino, the little angel friend of every child". You can follow it in episodes during the month of December on this page A warm greeting to all and good reading!

CHAPTER 1

"Angelino, stop... where are you going in such a hurry and in a car... then?" The old caretaker of the factory, had come out of the guardhouse to try to stop that little angel so busy bringing a smile to all the children of the world. For a while now, he had hardly used his wings, Angelino had become motorized. Since he had met a special person, a "pilotess", yes, that's right, a sweet and generous woman pilot, Angelino had been taken by motor fever. He was no longer himself, he had forgotten to use his soft wings, that means of transport that who knows how many motorists, often stuck in long traffic jams, would like to see popping up. Angelino had met Miss Speed at the hospital for a charity event during which the beautiful and daring lady was to donate a sum of money raised to buy new equipment for the paediatrics department. Angelino was there, sensitive to the sufferings of those children who were fighting against something unknown, bigger than them and incomprehensible even to an angel, to grant a wish and bring a smile...
