CINEMALFA 3RD BET

White, Red and Green

24 April, 2020
What could be nicer than going to the movies? Going to the movies with friends! That's why we are happy to announce that, starting from this episode, our virtual "Drive-In" is enriched by the presence of the Fisogni Museum, a museum that will amaze you and that, like us, belongs to the Lombardo Musei Design Circuit.

Today, together with friends of CinemAlfa, we also meet the Fisogni Museum of Tradate which, after having followed the first episodes, has decided to give us insights into the petrol pumps that can be seen in the proposed films.

YOU KNOW THE PHYSICS MUSEUM?

The Fisogni Museum of Tradate, preserves unique objects relating to petrol stations and oil companies; yes, because where there are cars, there are also petrol pumps. "In movie films," they explain at Fisogni, "gas stations are more present than you might think. From the classics of Hitchcock to cult favorites likeReturn to Future"from cinepanettoni to the films of James BondIt is not at all rare for there to be a scene set in a petrol station". It is precisely for this reason that the Museum in Tradesta has decided to participate in the initiative launched by the Fratelli Cozzi Museum, already a partner in the Circuito Lombardo Musei Design (Lombardy Design Museums Circuit): in addition to commenting on the films proposed by the review and describing the splendid Alfas that appear in the films, it will also be possible to discover numerous curiosities about the reference stations, with interesting and amusing ideas that will certainly amaze readers.

HERE ARE THE FIRST CURIOSITIES

The film now starring in our "Drive-In" is a great cult of laughter, who has been able to draw characters who have become true icons capable of telling tics and paranoia of society. Who among us has never heard Magda lock herself in the bathroom saying "I can't take it anymore"?? We are obviously talking about Bianco, Rosso and Verdone and before leaving you to the "vision" of the film, we anticipate some curiosities offered by the Fisogni Museum. Verdone and petrol: during their journey, Pasquale and Furio stop at the same petrol station, probably located in Tolfa; you can see that, as it was often used at the time, it is a dual brand plant, API and Fina. As Guido Fisogni remembers, in these plants the managers of the different companies contended for the drivers, trying to attract them to their own petrol pump. Speaking of pumps, the petrol station model used by Fina, produced under licence by the Italian company Castellazzo, is also well recognizable. Interesting curiosity, the very precise Furio chooses to be served by Fina: perhaps he was convinced by the slogan that promises "more kilometers with less oil"?

White, Red and Verdone (1981) Running time 109 minutes - Genre: comedy - Director: Carlo Verdone Cast: Carlo Verdone, Irina Sanpiter, Elena Fabrizi, Angelo Infanti, Milena Vukotic, Eolo Capritti, Mario Brega. In this film now become a cult, Carlo Verdone plays three characters completely different but psychologically similar, each with its own peculiarities. Furio, Mimmo and Pasquale have to go to vote, facing a journey that will lead them at the end of it to an awareness of their human situation. But our cinematographic journey in Alfa Romeo is next to Pasquale Amitrano who leaves from Germany to reach Matera aboard his red Alfasud full of kitschy "gadgets" (fur seats, doll and aerial "antenna).
During this journey that starts with a smile at the Brenner border and ends with anger on his face in Basilicata, Pasquale suffers theft, aggression, insults, without ever having human contact (see the scene of the German bus and the radio turned off on the election news). All this is done in silence until the explosion in an incomprehensible monologue without a pause inside the polling station, where the "X" drawn seems almost like a revenge against Italy and the colourful "arrivederci" closes before the end credits. The frame of this splendid road movie of comedy is the soundtrack by Ennio Morricone. Curiosity: the song that plays in the background of Pasquale's wild purchases in the Autogrill will become, appropriately adapted, the song of the Japanese cartoon Supercar Gattiger. It should also be noted that the cars used in the film have the colors of the Italian flag: green Fiat 1100 D, white Fiat 131 Panorama and red Alfasud.
CINEMALFA On the cinema stage of the beautiful country, the brand that most of all represents the changes in costume of our society, the passion and the made in Italy is definitely Alfa Romeo. It's enough to remember films that have made history and are well made, such as "Il laurea" with Dustin Hoffman, "Rocco e i suoi fratelli" by Luchino Visconti, "Roma a mano armata" by Umberto Lenzi, up to the very recent "Vallanzasca Gli Angeli del Male" by Michele Placido to place the Milanese company in the Olympus of the most fascinating and famous brands in the world. CinemAlfa was born from this: it is the ambitious idea of bringing together motor racing and film enthusiasts in a unique association. It is also a Study Centre for those who want to study, to deepen their film and car culture with texts divided into two distinct areas of interest, the automotive and the film, all available for consultation at the club's headquarters in Bergamo. The partners, with their cars, have collaborated in the creation and launch of many film projects including short films, commercials, music videos and films of international stature including "Era Santo, era uomo" directed by Lino Zani, the fictions "1993" and "1994" for Sky, "Maltese. The Commissioner's novel", "Noi e la Giulia!", "All the money in the world" by Ridley Scott, just to name a few. The operative venues, then, host some cars and a rich and interesting photo gallery that accompanies the visitor on a small journey through a hundred years of memories and the history of cinema. The Association is present on the web with its own website (www.cinemalfa.it), with a You Tube channel and a very active Facebook profile where members and friends discuss news from the automotive and film industry.
