PASSION

From the Rising Sun to the Far West

27 May, 2019

From the Rising Sun to the Far West everyone loves the Fratelli Cozzi Museum, as demonstrated by the guests who visited the museum in May..

This month we've been around the world in our Alfa Romeo cars. We set off from Brescia for the 1000 Miglia round Italy and welcomed guests from the most distant latitudes. From Japan to the United States, passing through Europe, many were the visitors who wanted to share their Alfa Romeo passion.

The words of Douglas (Portland USA)
"Last year I discovered your Museum on the Eventbrite website (we used it for online booking of visits) and I booked a visit to the Museum together with three American Alphites. It was the opening dedicated to Alfasud and ARNA.
For me, the visit to the museum was fantastic and emotional. I lived in Italy as a student in the years 77-79, in Recanati and the family that hosted me had an Alfa Romeo body shop. That's why I speak your language and I am Alfista!
Now after forty years - I find myself with nine Alphas in my little collection. For us American collectors, Alfa means Always Looking For Another!"
Doug has returned to Italy in recent days and this time he brought 50 friends from the Alfa Romeo USA Club with him. Together with him, we had the pleasure of hosting Cindy Banzer, National President and various national directors of the club.
The friends of the Club Alfa Romeo USA, are now a piece of our Museum, and we can't wait to find them next year because, they promised, they want to show our collection to the over 5000 members of the Club. We are waiting for them with the doors open!

"The tour manager said that the group and especially the tour expert were delighted with the visit. It was the highlight of the tour! In particular, they were very happy to have been able to see the part of the archive. In addition, they really enjoyed the lunch with all the alternatives on offer".

In par condicio between west and east coast, this week we also received the delegation of the Smithsonian Institution of Washington, founded in 1846 by the Englishman James Smithson (1765-1829) according to his wishes "under the name of the Smithsonian Institution, a structure for the increase and dissemination of knowledge". It is the largest museum, educational and research complex in the world, with 19 museums and the national zoo that shape the future by preserving our heritage, discovering new knowledge and sharing our resources with the world.

We want to thank them for the beautiful email they sent in the days following their visit, with the following words: "the tour manager said that the group, and especially the tour expert, were very happy with the visit. It was the highlight of the tour! In particular, they were very happy to have been able to see the part of the archive. In addition, they really enjoyed the lunch with all the alternatives on offer".

The next day, we had the pleasure of seeing Hidetomo Kimura again, whom we met during the 1000 Miles. Hidemoto was also part of the Zagato Team and participated with his Lancia Yena.

Hidemoto also loves to collect vintage cars and was fascinated by the Museum and for us it is a beautiful compliment to be appreciated by an artist like him.

Hidetomo is a great artist of aquariums, he created a series of tanks with futuristic shapes, with water games and magical atmospheres, supported by colorful lights and of course the charm of aquatic flora and fauna. Curator of interior design, for the exhibitions "Aquarium Art", "Sky Acquarium" and "Art Exhibition Aquarium" event specialized in showing the protagonist Kingyo, very famous and popular little fishes in Japan. He is also involved in ocean conservation activities with the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute (USA Florida) for the Japan headquarters and One Ocean Project.

We have certainly not given up conquering Europe and, thanks to our WIP Monica and Lorena Prandi of HFiltration S.r.L, we welcomed their guests from Germany, Austria, England and Slovenia.
