Beauty is necessary

26 June 2019

Andrea Zagato and Afshin Behnia, guests of the Fratelli Cozzi Museum, combine ingenuity, design and innovation in an elegant story that transforms a centuries-old story into a futurist avant-garde where Beauty is always the guide.

What would an Italian landscape be without the lines of an Alfa Romeo to crown its Beauty? Obviously we're joking, but if for the event dedicated to Zagato's 100th anniversary, guests from New York, Miami and Peru arrived at the Museum, perhaps we haven't gone too far.

The Fratelli Cozzi Museum wanted to pay homage to the 100 years of Zagato with a dedicated event held at the Fratelli Cozzi Museum on June 16. The anecdotes of the last 1000Miglia race on board the SZ, the testimony of Andrea Zagato and the participation of Afshin Behnia, won over the public.

It was fantastic to hear how the story of Zagato, a company in our territory, has been able to fascinate every latitude thanks to the testimony of Andrea Zagato who told the family's ingenuity: from the intuition of his grandfather Ugo to transfer the experience born in the aeronautical field also in the nascent automotive world, at the forefront of the new concept of collecting. Zagato has been able to understand his own time, always pushing towards the essentiality of forms, the lightness of materials, until reaching that "necessary beauty" able to go beyond the clichés of different eras, making his own line "timeless" and without boundaries.

It was Afshin Behnia, who told how much the charm of the Zagato lines have also conquered the American public. Behnia is the founder of Petrolicious, reference site for gentlemen drivers, enthusiasts, fans and collectors from all over the world who can discover the elegance of cars and the ingenuity summarized in their lines thanks to elegant and detailed reports.

That's why we coined the term "CarsTelling" for him, because the cars told by Petrolicious are not mechanical compositions: they are anthologies.
Satisfied Elisabetta who, together with the founder Pietro, welcomed guests and audience with enthusiasm and irony. Among the public also Klaus Busse, Head of Design for Fiat, Abarth, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Maserati at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, who shared part of the 1000 Miglia with Elisabetta, driving the Alfa Romeo SZ.

"Experience, technology and ingenuity in the extraordinary story of Andrea Zagato."
