The essentials are visible to the eyes

28 November, 2018

"My goal would be to be able to tell the feeling of total immersion that I felt the first time I visited the Museum".

"Andrea Meddicalled, remember him?" Of course we remember him! Andrea and his companions have created the "courts" dedicated to our founder Pietro Cozzi, creating a Web-Series that is already a cult among the Alphists. But why did you want to come back to the Museum after the internship experience of the past months? The artist's woodworm!

Andrea felt that there was still a lot to narrate with images, and the challenge was arduous: to tell what you can't see or, to put it in his words, "totell the feeling of total immersion that I felt the first time I visited the Museum".

The project is not alone, because to achieve the essential you need precise and multifaceted skills, but, fortunately, could count on the collaboration of Gloria Albanesi and Daniele Furini (director of photography), Enrico Cariolato (VFX) and Gerardo Tummillo (music).

In a contemporary language they have collected the provocation that colors, lights, shadows, lines create in the visitor's imagination, who, influenced by the chromatic immersion of the red cube, finds himself thrown from white reality, to the dreamlike darkness in the blink of an eye. Twenty-nine seconds, the achievement of an essentiality that satiates with a small drop, the curiosity of the visitor who will necessarily have to give in to the last qualms and book the nearest visit.

"It's very simple: you can only see it with your heart. The essential is invisible to the eyes." Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

And in homage to the school career of Andrea Meddi and his classmates, we disclose the announcement of the Busto Arsizio Film Fetival, hoping that it may be an opportunity to test themselves for our video makers and artists of tomorrow. We, in this case, already know who to cheer for.

"The first initiative linked to the film event in Busto Arsizio kicks off: Monday, December 3, the competition "BAFF in CORTO", now in its third year, opens.

Simple requirements to participate: the competition is reserved for original short films, fiction or animation works, of any cinematographic genre, made in 2018, with a maximum duration of twenty minutes.

Registration is free, the rules and the application form are published on the festival website ( www.baff.it ). The deadline for sending the material is 28 February 2019. At the end of a selection made by the artistic direction of the BA Film Festival, a jury composed by the students of the Istituto Cinematografico Michelangelo Antonioni (of which Andrea Meddi was a student) coordinated by the teachers, and chaired by a character from the entertainment world, in the previous editions Carla Signoris and Veronica Pivetti, will award the Best Short Film "BAFF in CORTO 2019".

The finalist shorts will be included in the festival program and the winner will be awarded during the film event, scheduled from March 30 to April 6, 2019″.
