The Lombardy Region Productive Activities Commission visits the Museum

December 15, 2017

The Regional Commission for Productive Activities of the Lombardy Region visited the Fratelli Cozzi Museum, thanks to the invitation of Councilwoman Carolina Toia, always attentive to the cultural and social proposals that the City of Legnano offers to the community.

The Commission, led by President Pietro Foroni, visited the museum on Thursday, December 14, welcomed by Elisabetta Cozzi and guided by an extraordinary Pietro Cozzi, who recounted more than sixty years of Italian commercial, industrial and social history through Alfa Romeo icons: "A national boast that is also a boast of our northwestern and upper Milanese territory".

The Museum has three major themes at heart: passion, events and culture. The latter has seen the activation of many collaborations with local high schools and universities. Increasingly active collaboration also with institutions both locally and nationally thanks to membership of the Museimpresa association which, a few days ago, signed an agreement with MiBACT.

Therefore, the dialogue with the Lombardy Region is fundamental, and we hope that the Region has been pleasantly surprised by the passion in Viale Toselli. Donatella Martinazzoli (Northern League), Carlo Borghetti and Fabio Pizzul (PD), Carolina Toia and Marco Tizzoni (Maroni List) participated in the morning, joined by the mayor of Legnano, Gianbattista Fratus, and the Councillor for Urban Planning, Gianluca Alpoggio.

Messenger and point of union between Legnano and the Lombardy Region was Councillor Carolina Toia who said: "The Fratelli Cozzi Museum is considered a piece of history and a feather in the cap for our city and our Region. It all began in 1955, when Fratelli Cozzi, a historic Alfa Romeo dealership, was founded in Legnano. Pietro Cozzi's intuition and passion led the owners to collect one example of each Alfa Romeo built since 1950, choosing from among the best performing and most characterful models. What started out as a private collection has since been transformed into a museum open to the public, so that all car enthusiasts can participate".

We thank Regional Councillor Carlo Borghetti for these beautiful words:

"ALFA ROMEO, A HEART THAT ALSO BEATS IN LEGNANO. AND THE RETURN TO F1 MAY BE AN OMEN FOR NEW INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT".

An emotion. In Legnano, with fellow regional councillors, I took part in a visit to the Fratelli Cozzi Museum, which displays a fantastic collection of Alfa Romeo cars that spans the entire history of the famous manufacturer. A national boast that is also a boast of our north-western and upper Milanese territory.

Who in their life hasn't had anything to do with Alfa Romeo? I learned to drive in a Giulietta, and there are countless families in our area who have had relatives working in the Arese factory in the past. This collection has the merit of making you not only see the cars, but to make you touch them and feel that they are still alive, not museum pieces at all. A praise to Pietro Cozzi who has always taken care of this small Alfa Romeo temple with a paternal passion.

The hope now is that, also through a return to Formula One, this glorious brand can once again push the Italian car industry forward, bringing industrial development and jobs: and this must be the commitment of all of us involved in politics, each at his own level, and as far as I'm concerned, in the Lombardy Region.
