CULTURE

Outside the box, inside Europe!

22 November, 2018

A truly incredible week where skills, arts, schools and professions were combined in one place. To all participants and all guests we want to say THANK YOU. Thank you for having accepted the "provocation" of a Museum that, starting from a man's dream, has become an amplifier of knowledge and experiences.

"Industrial culture, a bridge between the economy and social growth at the heart of European identity" is the title of the 17th Corporate Culture Week. For us Alfisti, that bridge could only be that of Dion, dear to the rear wheel drive of many Alfa Romeo cars in the 70s and 80s. And when it comes to Alfa and vintage, the name of Antonino D'Anna, director of "Il Garage dell'Alfista", who inaugurated the calendar of our Week, with one of the great loves of all time: the Giulia! But he was not alone, with him Giorgio Langella, historic Alfa Romeo test driver and Ivan Scelsa, president of the Cinemalfa association, and Domenico Pepè, president of the Registro Italiano Giulia.

The presence of Pietro Cozzi, presented by D'Anna with a quote of pure avant-garde, an author's reference to Mixer, the historical Rai program conducted by Giovanni Minoli that, for a moment, took us back to those glorious years, in which Giulia was the absolute protagonist.

And after a Sunday of passion, the Monday of reflection in the company of Giuseppe Morici, CEO of Bolton Alimentari, and previously manager at Procter & Gamble and Barilla with whom we continued our path "Let yourself be guided", aimed at exploring the complex issue of managerial ethics. After Montigny's Oscar, Niccolò Branca and Filomena Pucci, Amanda Colombo (a popular librarian from Leghorn, organizer of countless cultural initiatives and Woman In Power) conducted an interesting in-depth study starting from the second book published by Morici: "Fare i manager rimanendo brave persone". The relationship between entrepreneur and manager and the sharing of years of great personal and professional experience have given to those present, interesting points of reflection to interpret the current economic landscape and glimpse scenarios of the near future.

"Architecture has always been and today is more than ever a magical rite: every time you lose the magical reality of architecture you also lose architecture." Hector Sottsass"

And there's always a first time. After bringing gala dinners, music, numerous writers, photo shoots, on Thursday 15 November the theatre also arrived at the Museum! Thanks to the event organized by Fideuram, historical partner of the Museum, we had the pleasure of hosting Roberto Bonzio and his show, "We owe it all to the hippies. To the roots of the New Economy."

From the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson and the philosophy of American transcendentalists, to the poetic fury of Alleng Ginsberg and the beat generation, passing from pioneers in the search for gold in the Wild West, to the pioneers of computer science, Bonzio presented a series of visionary Utopians capable of transforming the world.

On stage some objects capable of taking us to other eras and other places, such as the Olivetti Valentine born from Ettore Sottsass's pen, objects that are stories and stories that are Art. Two continents, many generations, many literary tomes and endless notes have found home in a car museum. Small" places wide open on the world thanks to Roberto Bonzio's show and the sound and visual suggestions curated respectively by Luca Presence Carini and Roberta Gaito, directed by Alessio Mazzolotti .

We had met Roberto Bonzio a few months ago thanks to Egidio Alagia and the proposal to host him at the Museum made us particularly happy.

The week ended in the best possible way, in the company of journalist Anna Prandoni. As per her established and good habit, Anna did not show up empty-handed and brought two precious friends: Barbara Rizzardini, director of theAccademia del Panino Italiano and Daniele Reponi.

"The Accademia del Panino Italianois a cultural and technical point of reference for operators and scholars in the sector and for those who want to approach this theme to make it a profession. A place capable of combining Italian territorial tradition and contemporary innovations", reads their presentation. Having them at the Museum gave us the opportunity to feel the scents of our country, accompanied by the irresistible Modenese accent of Daniele Reponi who, together with the enthusiasm of Barbara Rizzardini and the expertise of Anna Prandoni, took us on a new stage of that journey that we call Italy here. And who knows, from this evening the "Panino Alfista" will not be born.

We also give you a good suggestion for Christmas presents: why not give a course at the Sandwich Academy? Here find more info, because if eating an art, preparing the best Italian Sandwich is certainly a profession!
