Save the Italian Beauty

Today begins the new column in which we will tell you about the conservative restoration works of our "little ones": the 60 Alfa Romeo cars of the Fratelli Cozzi Museum.
A beautiful workshop, where everything is in its place. There is modern equipment, lots of lights and a large room. At the back, however, something is different. There is a very large wooden bench with lots of strange tools and, hanging just above it, a showcase with boxes for small parts. Who wouldn't want a workbench like that?! Even the light is different, softer and warmer. That's where we find him, with his head inside the open bonnet, intent on checking the engine carefully and gently. "It's like fixing an antique clock,' he says, 'you have to know where to put your hands, because if you break even one little piece, you risk never being able to get it going again. This is Mario (*) and from today he will be our trusted mechanic: we will entrust the restoration of our Alfa Romeos to his experience and competence. An important job that cannot be left to chance, every detail must be preserved and taken care of. A job made possible thanks to the companies that have decided to adopt a car.

The first car entrusted to the hands of "Mario" is the Gobbone and the precious restoration work is made possible by Fideuram who, for the first time, joined our campaign. "Adopt a car."

With the adoption Fideuram will help to show that Italian history, art, beauty and ingenuity are important to you and you will be able to say that you have contributed to the Defending the artistic and technological heritage of the country, supporting historical research and investing in the future of students.

(*) Mario is the third most popular name in Italy and we wanted to call our ideal mechanic, who represents the wisdom of the technicians who will take care of our cars. In short, Mario is a fictional character... maybe.

The Gobbbone is the first car that welcomes you to the Fratelli Cozzi Museum, it is the oldest car in the collection. The 6C 2300 was replaced by the Alfa Romeo 6C 2500, the last car in the series before the Second World War and resumed after the First World War until 1950 in about 2,800 units. Of these, 680 were built in the Freccia d'Oro version. The 2500 was the last version of the 6C series and was withdrawn from the market, replaced by the Alfa Romeo 1900.

Curiosity: in the movie "The Godfather" we see the Hunchback explode together with Apollonia, wife of Michael Corleone.

IMPORTANT: an invasive intervention was necessary on the left door, damaged by attempts to open it. We remind you that it is not possible to touch the cars on display precisely because they are precious objects and must be stored with the utmost caution. After all, we do not need to touch the Mona Lisa to appreciate its extraordinary beauty. We rely on the collaboration of our visitors.
