Alfa Romeo
The world of collecting is really vast and is not limited only to cars, but it unravels in a long series of objects and sometimes crosses paths with the dream of owning an Alfa Romeo.

One of these objects comes from 1950 (the year of our Gobbone) and tells us the story of many children who are passionate about figurines. So many that Liebig, first, and then Lavazza, thought of promoting their products by including collectible figurines in the packaging, counting on the children's whims to increase sales.

Today we are particularly dedicated to the Lavazza collection, consisting of 283 series of six figurines each, all measuring 7 x 11 centimetres and published exclusively in Italian. The last 11 series, known as "not issued", although already in the printing phase, were never distributed and for this reason their prices are much higher than the other series.

"Giuseppe Quadrifoglio", alfista devoted to collecting and our editor, has found for us a Lavazza figurine, series "Avvenimenti Sportivi", dedicated to Giuseppe Emilio Farina, called Nino, who in 1950 (have I already told you that this is the year of production of our Gobbone?) won the first Formula 1 Grand Prix in history, at the wheel of the Alfa Romeo 158 of the official Alfa Romeo Spa team, ahead of his team mates Luigi Fagioli and Red Parnell. The fourth driver, the great Juan Manuel Fangio, is forced to retire at the 62nd of 70 laps.

The following year he will again win the world championship in an Alfa Romeo, the 159.

Enzo Ferrari will say of him "He will be historically remembered as the driver who first took the world title when the Formula 1 World Championship was established in 1950".
