Donating makes the Museum great

22 April, 2021

The Museum has recently received two truly unique donations: a heartfelt thank you for choosing us to look after your treasures!

A museum's collection is never static: it grows and changes over time, through acquisitions but also through donations.

Donating an object, a collection, a document or even money to a museum means supporting its history and mission. It means somehow becoming part of the museum's history.

Since we are lucky and have received two donations in the last period , we would like to share them on these pages, while waiting for you to admire them in person.

Making a donation to a museum means sharing its history, values and mission.

The models pictured above are part of a donation from the family of Lorenzo Magnifico, a model car and automobile enthusiast: Lorenzo dedicated a lifetime to the world of motoring and from today his treasures will be on display in our Museum.

There are more than 150 Alfa Romeo models, beautiful and perfectly maintained. These models have already found a place in a display case reserved for them in the Cozzi.Lab and will remain available to scholars and enthusiasts like Lorenzo.

Lorenzo would have been delighted with this choice," said Mario Manzoni, Lorenzo's cousin, who visited the museum for the occasion, "and we are very happy to know that in some way he is now here and that this will be his home in a certain sense.

Lorenzo would have been delighted with this choice: the museum is now his home too.

Lorenzo Magnifico's cousins and relatives have donated their collection of Alfa Romeo models to the Museum: thank you very much!

The second donation, this time anonymous, concerns a rare silkscreen print a rare silkscreen print taken from an original drawing by Walter de'Silva, director of the Alfa Romeo style centre, reproduced in a limited series for the launch of the Alfa 156. Truly breathtaking!

Special thanks to all our donors! ❤️
