women and engines? joys and that's it! the photo exhibition at the museum

November 18, 2022

16 women for 16 photographic portraits, a valuable reflection and testimony on the occasion of November 25

"Women drivers? Constant danger!"

"Women and motors? Joys and sorrows!"

But isn't it time to stop with these clichés?

On the occasion of the 21st Corporate Culture Week and Nov. 25, theFriends of Fratelli Cozzi Museum Association in collaboration with CIF Italian Women's Center of Legnanochose to showcase the beauty and elegance of the female figure through 16 photographic shots of women aboard the Museum's wonderful Alfa Romeos.

Moving away from stereotypes, fighting images that distort reality, overcoming discriminatory culture. The founding idea of this project stems from a decidedly mistreated female figure in the automotive field and the desire to present and look at women with different eyes, for the great value they have, value they express every day in what they do. Including being behind the wheel of a car.

Prejudice is also violence, even degrading images that juxtapose women with cars are.

That is why there was such a need for this exhibition, which will open on Nov. 18 and aims to express through the shots and video footage of photographer Camilla Albertini a testimony on behalf of the world of women .

The exhibition is based on a video/photo project that immortalizes 16 women with the splendid cars of the Fratelli Cozzi Museum: 16 women who stand out for their professionalism and expertise, businesswomen, managers, professionals, volunteers, politicians, journalists, sportswomen and teachers.

The project was implemented thanks to the valuable support of the Ticino Olona Community Foundation.
