scent of alpha and family

20 February, 2022

A very successful event is the best way to open our 2022 at the museum!

How many scents can we link to our childhood and family history?

The smell of lasagne on Sundays, of the sea and sun cream in summer, of the paper of school exercise books...

For many, even the smell of Alfa!

The event on 20 February was a plunge into collective memories thanks to the suggestions of Profumo di Alfa, the new two-monthly magazine dedicated to Alfa Romeo enthusiasts published for the first time on 15 January 2022 edited by journalist and editor Mario Fontana.

A project that has remained in the drawer for a long time and has now been launched with an event in our Museum. It goes without saying how proud and happy we are to have been chosen to host the presentation of this publishing initiative!

"What a pleasure to see dozens of enthusiasts return to the museum, what a pleasure to share their joy, what a pleasure to feel the emotion of being together again, what a pleasure to smell the "Scent of Alfa"!"

that THE EVENT AND THE GUESTS

The event was designed as a sort of 3D version of the 3D version of the first issue of the magazine.. Let us explain: we wanted to invite some of the protagonists of the articles contained in issue 1 for a totally immersive experience.

If you think about it, it makes sense: even the Museum has a whole article dedicated to it in the first issue!

What more is there to say? It was a wonderful afternoon: after a guided tour by our highly trained Renato Tradicothe publisher Mario Fontana together with Massimo and Giuseppe Colombointerviewed guests of the calibre of Andrea Cajani de La Scuderia del Portello, Gippo Salvetti of Alfa Blue Team.

Also very interesting is the testimony of Marco Zarotti, who told us about his great passion: creating perfect scale reproductions of Alfa Romeos.

Maria Laura Luraghi, granddaughter of the legendary Alfa Romeo manager Giuseppe Luraghi, also attended and remembered him.

Dulcis in fundo, Fulvio Maria Ballabio, manager of the team Pink Montecarlo Motorsport, told us about this extraordinary car and the team of female drivers (present thanks to videos and photos of the race).

To close the event, the Pink, exclusively displayed at the covered by a black cloth until the end of the event.

With its shocking pink colour, it caught everyone's eye, while enthusiasts were able to see all its technical features such as its all-carbon structure live.

"How wonderful it was to see dozens of enthusiasts return to the museum, how wonderful to share their joy, how wonderful to feel the emotion of being together again, how wonderful to smell the "Scent of Alfa"!" was the comment of our director Elisabetta Cozzi.

Finally, all the participants received a precious souvenir: the first collector's edition of Profumo di Alfa in a limited edition and with different characteristics to the issue on the market (which can be purchased at newsstands until issue number 2 comes out).

Tickets are already available for the new opening dates of the museum with the protagonists of the next issues of the bimonthly magazine Profumo di Alfa: 10 April and 8 May.
