MuseoCity 2020: program variation
February 26, 2016
Flexibility and resilience, these are also characteristic elements of the Milanese culture, and so here we are dealing with some schedule changes.
The contingent situation obliges us to modify the program we had prepared for MuseoCity 2020 in order to comply with the ordinance of the Lombardy Region regarding the containment of Corona Virus.

For this reason we had to cancel the opening scheduled for March 6 and postpone, to a date to be determined, the conference that saw as guests two extraordinary women at the helm of prestigious museums as Mariella Mengozzi director of the Car and Silvia Nicolis president of Nicolis Museum.

However, we have decided to accept Mayor Giuseppe Sala's invitation to "not stop Milan". In respect of the regulations in force today and of our visitors, we want to support the hoped-for return to normality with aspecial free opening. We look forward to seeing you at the Museum on Sunday 8 March for a guided tour starting at 15.00.

(The program will be updated if there are further dispositions of Regione Lombardia)

As always, we ask you to book your visit to help us optimise the organisation.

MUSEOCITY2020 The Fratelli Cozzi Museum is pleased to announce its participation in Milano MuseoCity, an initiative promoted and coordinated by the City of Milan in collaboration with the MuseoCity Association. MILANO MUSEOCITY The widespread event, now in its fourth edition, involves the Museums enhancing their cultural function and promoting the knowledge of an extraordinary heritage. There will be more than 89 museums of art, history, science museums, house museums, artists' houses, archives and business museums spread throughout the city with some "incursions" in the area of the Metropolitan City. Just one of these "incursions" will see the protagonist the MUSEO FRATELLI COZZI, honored to be counted together with prestigious realities and enthusiastic to contribute by telling unpublished pages related to a theme we have always loved: "The talents of women". This, in fact, is the theme chosen by MuseoCity for this edition: "women protagonists of creative thought, from the exemplary figures of the past to the many witnesses of today in the world of art, culture, entrepreneurship, sport, science". A theme that we could only support, given the commitment we have always shown in pursuing ethical communication, free from all gender stereotypes and aimed at opposing the cliché "Women and Motors" which, at the Museum, always means only "Joy and that's it".
ASSOCIAZIONE MUSEOCITY MuseoCity is a non-profit association that works to promote and enhance the great museum heritage of the city of Milan and its hinterland. The intention is to encourage the participation of an increasingly wide public in the artistic-cultural life of the city, also emphasizing the comfortable and welcoming dimension of museums. Since 2016, the Association, together with the Municipality of Milan, has been organizing an urban festival entitled Milano MuseoCity on the first weekend of March, involving 80 museums and attended by around 80,000 people. These include art, science, history, business, sports and house museums, public and private museums, which make the city special also from the point of view of widespread art. The Association also develops various activities during the rest of the year, aimed at making the beauty of the museums known to numerous visitors, with particular attention to children, to whom cycles of guided tours are dedicated, thanks to the collaboration of Milanoguida, and for whom the project Cartolina d'Autore was created. Ours are only examples of what can be done, in the hope that some museums will decide to make them their own.
