It was meant to be...

14 February, 2020

Galeotta was the passion for chrome plating. In the month of Love, another "little one" from the Museum found family with Smeg.

This story was born "in the immediate post-war period, in an economic context of development and increasing urbanization, which will lead to a radical change in social models [...]. The changing rhythms of city life, the new structure of families, the figure of the working woman are the needs on which the company begins to study products that meet the demands of technology and renewal [...]" creating "objects to be exhibited as real status symbols, contribute to the change of customs".

You will surely have heard this anecdote many times during the introduction to the guided tour of the Museum, but this time we are not talking about us!

Let's talk about SMEG, which with its claim "The technology that furnishes", tells its vocation for innovation that does not give up the aesthetic care. Besides sharing our origins in an extraordinary historical moment for Italy, as you have just read, we have the same passion for design. Just as the Museum has availed itself of the collaboration of prestigious architects such as Oscar and Gabriele Buratti, Smeg also avails itself of the collaboration of world-famous architects and designers such as Guido Canali (watch the interview), Mario Bellini, the Piano Design studio, Marc Newson, Giancarlo Candeago, Matteo Bazzicalupo and Raffaella Mangiarotti (deepdesign). Thanks to them Smeg has created products that over time have become true Made in Italy icons.

Faithful photographs of the Country of Style, Smeg appliances, such as the 50s refrigerator or kitchens made entirely of steel, become objects capable of influencing the evolution of taste and creating relationships that go beyond practical needs. It is with this precise spirit that collaborations with great designers and architects are born and, at the same time, internal development projects capable of interpreting tastes and trends are consolidated.

That's why the car adopted by SMEG is the China-yellow Giulietta T.I.... yes, the very car from which it all began. The car for which Pietro Cozzi said for the first time: "Put it there", the car of the economic boom, the car that tells perfectly the historical period in which SMEG saw its birth and its affirmation.

"Thank you SMEG"

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO ADOPT A CAR?

It means contributing to all this to show that Italian history, art, beauty and ingenuity are important to her. Corporate Social Responsibility is made up of concrete actions that communicate to all stakeholders what the company believes in.

The company logo will be on the car in the Museum. You will receive 1000 postcards with the car you adopt. We will dedicate to this news a post on Facebook, a post on Instagram and a space in the newsletter. Thousands of people will be aware of this choice!

You can also take advantage of an "Invitation to the Museum" and that is the Museum available for two hours, including a guided tour, with a maximum of 6 guests.
