We will go over the legendary history of Alfa Romeo with her.
Even in small things there are great ideas
Spica (Società Pompe Iniezione Cassani & Affini) was a company that was established in 1936 in Milan, on a private initiative, and in 1938 moved to Livorno, with the aim of producing injection pumps for diesel engines. In 1941 it became part of IRI, which entrusted it to Alfa Romeo. It was located on a covered area of 4500 square meters with 410 employees. Thus began the production of components for cars: spark plugs, water and oil pumps, shock absorbers and rack and pinion steering. Initially these components were produced only for Alfa, which, through its technical management, supplied the drawings and absorbed 70% of production; later on for any other car brand. La Spica reached maximum expansion in 1982 with two thousand employees, a large number of whom were women.
The spare parts were sold through two channels: Alfa's commercial network, which supplied its dealers, and a sales network made up of agents who distributed spare parts to repairers, both for Alfa vehicles and for those of other car manufacturers. In 1988, together with Alfa Romeo, it passed to Fiat, which sold it the following year to the English multinational Delphi, which sold the brand.

An opportunity to remember a legendary story and all those who helped to create the Alpha myth but also to attract and motivate new generations to keep this myth alive in the years to come.
